KCC under the direction of Dave Heap was at the forefront of opening up caving and potholing in Norway. This led to many major discoveries.

The most notable of these is the Ragge Javre Raige pothole near Musken well north of the Arctic Circle which remains the deepest through trip in Northern Europe. This was first descended by a KCC team in 1968.

The total depth is 660 metres and the biggest pitch is 160 metres.
